Always Lending a Hand

Janel MacFarlane is a full time second year university student, hoping to become an occupational therapist specializing in helping young children with disabilities.  She has always been involved with helping others, including helping in her mother’s classroom with students, and at her churches Sunday school classes.  Now even though she has always lent a hand where it was needed, Janel just recently began to show how much she has to give to those in need.

AUGUST 24th Regina Dragon Boat Festival

Being in a car for 8 hours gives you a lot of time to sit back, relax and reflect.  Because the Regina Dragon Boat Festival was my last Never Quit Road Crew event I started thinking about this summer and how many great people I have met over the past few months.  Meeting so many inspirational people from all over the Prairies has truly changed my mind set.  I am much more positive and I've learned that whatever life throws your way, you can overcome it.  This was such a great experience, and I learned so much about the history of the Prairies and how wonderful Prairie people truly are.

Annual Sheep River Road Race

The Big Rock Runners Club invites you to our Annual Sheep River Road Race. This years race is guaranteed to be a day full of family fun and some great running. Each year the number of participants exceed the year befores, bringing over 400 diverse runners from Okotoks and surrounding areas. There are both a challenging 5km and demanding 10km run, making this a great event for all levels of enthusiasts
