GlobalFest burst onto the scene in 2003 with 10 cultural pavilions and three countries competing in Calgary's very own international fireworks competition. On the fourth and final night of the international competition, the festival celebrated a remarkable accomplishment. The festival had attendance of close to 100,000 in the very first year, making GlobalFest one of Calgary's top draws for local citizens and tourists alike.

GlobalFest's mandate as a not-for-profit society is to produce an inclusive, world class, multi-faceted arts and culture festival that celebrates and showcases cultural diversity and artistic excellence within our communities and across the globe.

Every year, 60 teams from across Alberta come to compete in this event to raise money for local charities. The race is family friendly and includes entertainment for adults and children. The race's goal is to give the community of Lethbridge a memorable event and the opportunity to raise money for local charities. The annual Westman Dreams for Kids McDonald's Classic Golf Tournament will be held at the Glen Lea Golf Course and will feature one shot gun start at 11:00a.m. with a banquet dinner and prizes to follow. Tournament proceeds help raise money for the Westman Dream for Kids Foundation. Toyota Never Quit nomination forms will be distributed on the day of the event.

The 2^nd annual Wetaskiwin Sprint Triathlon consists of a 750 m swim in a pool, a 20 km bike on a marked, city street course around the pool and a 5 km run on a marked course to the finish line at the pool parking lot. Every August long weekend the citizens and families of Steinbach get together to celebrate the pioneer life of the past and to help create a collective future for the community. Activities and demonstrations at the event include butter churning, log cutting, quilting, a horseshoe toss and much more. This annual event gives businesses, friends and community groups the opportunity to compete in the second most popular sport in the world. The Edmonton Dragon Boat Festival is celebrating its 13th season as Alberta's Largest Festival & Competition Event. This race is supported by the Edmonton Dragon Boat Festival Association (EDBFA), which is a non-profit organization that promotes dragon boat racing and its multicultural celebration. The Chamber of Commerce's 8^th Annual Rattlesnake Pro/Am Golf Classic, in partnership with the Callaway Series, will be held at the beautiful Medicine Hat Golf & Country Club. Toyota Never Quit nomination forms will be available at the putting challenge.
